Over the next few months, ARO are running a series of Microsoft webinars to help you with everything from Copilot to strengthening your security infrastructure. 2024 has already presented a new range of business challenges to our organisations, and we want to support you by removing any technology burdens you may have. Our first webinar, AI and You, is set to commence on the 13th June 2024.

Create prompts grounded in your work content when using Copilot in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

One of the most notable upgrades to Copilot is the ability to ground its prompts directly in your work content. Whether you’re composing an email in Outlook, crafting a document in Word, creating a spreadsheet in Excel, or designing a presentation in PowerPoint, Copilot will now provide tailored suggestions and assistance to enhance your workflow. No more switching back and forth between applications – Copilot seamlessly integrates with these Microsoft 365 productivity apps to offer real-time guidance and support.

Use Copilot alongside Graph-grounded chat within the Microsoft 365 mobile app

For those who prefer to work on the go, Copilot now extends its functionality to the Microsoft 365 mobile app. This means that you can leverage Copilot’s capabilities even when using your smartphone or tablet.

With Graph-grounded chat, you can engage in natural language conversations with Copilot, allowing you to ask for help, request information, or seek assistance while you’re on the move, enabling you to stay connected and productive regardless of your location.

Those who have a commercial license for Copilot for Microsoft 365 can use the Microsoft 365 mobile app to:

  • Gain relevant insights and suggested actions based on previous interactions
  • Create blogs, presentations, emails, and more by generating content based on past work, existing information, and inputs
  • Get summaries, translations, explanations of documents, or ask questions about content, and receive answers grounded in organisational data.
  • Keep up to date with meetings, conversations, documents, and pre-reads.

Interact with Copilot directly in Outlook

You can now interact with Copilot directly within your Outlook inbox, making it easier than ever to compose emails, schedule and summarise meetings, manage tasks, and organise your messages. Copilot can even help you find a specific email simply by asking questions like, “What is the latest email from …?” or “Show me the emails where I’ve been mentioned.”

New ways to engage with Copilot in Excel

Excel users will be delighted to discover the new ways they can engage with Copilot. Copilot’s assistance in Excel has been expanded to include features like automated data analysis, formula recommendations, and data visualisation suggestions. The Microphone feature can even be used to verbally prompt Copilot, eliminating the need for manual typing. Plus, by selecting the ‘view prompts’ icon, you can explore the prompt guide in the chat pane for new prompt ideas tailored specifically to your data.

Get more context-aware output from Copilot in Loop

Loop, Microsoft’s knowledge management platform, now benefits from improved integration with Copilot. With enhanced relevance and accuracy, Copilot provides more context-aware output that helps you find the information you need quickly and efficiently. Whether you’re searching for answers, exploring insights, or looking for examples, Copilot’s powerful algorithms ensure that you get the most relevant and valuable output from Loop. For example, you can now prompt Copilot about specific sections of a document such as ‘summarise the first paragraph’ or ‘list out this paragraph in bullet points.

Restricted SharePoint Search

Microsoft has introduced a new capability called Restricted SharePoint Search in Copilot which will start rolling out in June 2024 for customers with Copilot for M365 licenses. This feature is made for organisations wanting a temporary security solution in place when sharing content. Restricted SharePoint Search allows businesses to disable organisation-wide search and limit Copilot to specific SharePoint sites. This gives organisations time to review and audit site permissions while implementing data security.

New features to help manage your data

New commitments regarding stored content of interactions with Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 have been included in the existing data residency commitments for Microsoft 365. These commitments are accessible to standard multi-tenant customers globally through Microsoft Product Terms and data residency product offerings, such as Advanced Data Residency (“ADR”) and Multi-Geo Capabilities add-ons.
